SDA wine drinkers, EGW haters and Bible despise-rs

After linking to Spectrum Magazine comments in discussion, the number of SDA people who drink wine and read nothing of EGW and cannot stand reading their Bibles is amazing?

What is becoming of the average SDA these days? Have we lost the plot?

I thought we are people seeking truth to be saved? More like mockers mocking to remain lost?

Surely the truth can withstand scrutiny? Otherwise it is not truth. How do we handle such mocking, and such back sliding of our own people? Any suggestions anyone - I have the same problems in my own local church - People who attend but are not interested in being saved. They do what is right in their own eyes.
They make their own version of righteousness. Am I any better? Or should we seek what is truth first and than ponder are we on the same page? I spent 45 years in the SDA church pondering faith and never really coming to until faith until now, but nobody wants to know? Why is that? Arn't we all wanting to be saved?

Maybe it's time to write this into less writing and easier reading?

We ponder truth as a journey of learning. I have only learned this since July 2025. It's quite and exciting journey. Shalom

Just 2 weeks ago, I was visiting a friend and his other friend happened to be visiting him at the same time. As men do, we struck a conversation and this other friend of my friend’s (who happens to be an SDA of regular standing) mentioned that he keeps bottles of wine in his house and drinks in the evenings.

I probed him to find out if he saw anything amiss with that and he said there’s nothing wrong with it. He said he drinks to clear his mind and relieve stress.

I just got kicked off SDA spectrum discussion Chief, I suppose for Laundering:

Here is a clue from a SDA person who did not like my claims

Finally, for clarity: Spectrum does allow links to external sources. The issue is not censorship; it is the quality of claims being made. This false claim couple with your request to register on your website (you have asked others to do the same) is classic mix of credential laundering, misdirection, and platform harvesting. I would like to encourage the @webed to review your comments as it appears you are baiting people to signup so you can build your own forum.

I have 3 people on my website forum "Spiritual Spirituals Proboard" one is name LeRoy which I invited to my site simply because ProBoards allows longer discussions and fancier editing than this forum does.
I am not baiting people, not wanting their input. I was trying to witness to them.

What a world we live in today.

In Sabbath School classes you are not allowed to talk too much,
deeper discussions are not allowed
and trying to get members to be saved is just your opinion and not allowed

The same trend occurs in Spectrum.
How on earth are you supposed to teach others?

Some SDA claim Mrs White was never a Hebrew English translator.
Some same Hosea is not the same word as Yasha or Joshua, hence a different name spelling for Jesus. Whose authority do you trust?
Why I used to argue black and blue with Dr Eric Livingstone a Greek and Hebrew scholar from Avondale University on lots of themes. So which Authority do you trust.

He got me to buy James Barr book on the Semantic of Ancient Hebrew, and in chapter two the Root Word Fallacy, I disagreed with everything he said. No wonder our SDA scholars are wrong, they are taught by wrong scholars.
I thank this forum for allowing links.

How do you make a deeper discussion without links?
Are people supposed to be fed with 10 words or less? How is that meat?
It's baby food.

As for you friend drinking wine

The Bible says this " Pr 20:1 ¶ Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise."
This KJV translation is fuzzy because "luwts" is normally translated as "good translator"
Ge 42:23 And they knew not that Joseph understood them; for he spake unto them by an interpreter "good translator"
Job 33:23 If there be a messenger with him, an iinterpreter "good translator", one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:
.
Now all other contexts require the opposite meaning : ie a "bad translator, or fuzzy translation" the idea of a mocker is wrong.
So

The Bible says this " Pr 20:1 ¶ Wine is a fuzzy translator...

The word "translator" does not mean the narrow field of making words into other words for another culture, it can also mean the way we hear and speak, we do so by translating our thoughts into words for others. So "interpreter" is OK for a nuance of this meaning.

When you drink too much wine, it changes your translating ability.

Your speech slurs, you speak more boldly and more wrong than when sober.

But how do you have a deep discussion with a Spectrum SDA using 10 words?
They will not understand, and if you use links, they accuse you of laundering.

Shalom
